Accomodation
Singapore has a large number of good hotels for all budgets. For a long-term stay it is advisable to book a serviced apartment.
You may check with your employer if the company has arranged for company rates in any of the hotels or serviced apartments.

More info on how to select a serviced apartment is given in e-relocation Singapore - the step-by-step guide for your relocation to Singapore. See here for what is covered in step 5 " In Transition". You can access e-relocation Singapore for free, once you have appointed property agency Knight Frank to search a home for you in Singapore. Find and book a serviced apartment with our partner MoveandStay here.
Attractions
Once you have settled down into your new home, you will want to explore your new home town. Some of us expats really never get to do this until the first visitor arrives and you want to show him or her around. Before you end up on your tenth visit to the Singapore Night Safari (a really great and impressive attraction!) you might like to try out some other places.

Eco Tourism
The hustle and bustle of the city may get on your nerves and you long to listen to some birds singing and bees humming which is so easily drowned by traffic and air-conditions.
Have a go at the places below and switch off for a while. Some places are great for kids who - born in Singapore - might have never seen a cow in their young life!

One of the best ways to discover Singapore and its diverse offerings is to grab a copy of Singapore CityScoops – the city's first independent and hip guide book.
It's like having a local pal introduce you to the real Singapore and its best eats, buys, thrills, clubs, escapes ... and more. |
Find out where your kids can have fun while you relax with a cuppa; check out chic or truly local eateries; seek out cool spas, galleries or clubs; and hunt for unique buys for your home or wardrobe.
Singapore CityScoops is created by a savvy group of expatriates and locals that have explored every inch of the country. Sectioned by area and supported with vibrant photos and friendly maps, the 144-page book zooms in on finds and experiences not found in other guide books to Singapore. Best of all, there are no adverts or paid reviews. One expatriate raved, "It’s excellent for finding the really good spots in Singapore, when you need them most.”
