Introduction Land and water based sports activities available in good weather all year round is a major plus for expatriates living in Singapore. Many engage in taking a diving course and make use of their new learnt hobby all year round at different diving locations in Asia. See section Tourism to discover "Island Escapes" .
There is a large variety of activities offered in all parts of Singapore and our featured selection is by no means complete. The trouble is that locations and names are changing so frequently that it is hard to keep the information updated at all times. Therefore we recommend you call the organizer prior to your first visit and inquire about the location, commencement and fees involved. It is useful to ask for a "landmark" to direct the taxi driver as sometimes it can be quite tricky to find the place.
Engaging in sports activities helps to settle in quickly and is a good way to find new friends, either local or expatriate. Often classes are organized by international clubs or individual expatriates who are using the clubs'' venues. You may be able to join even if you are not a club member.
Expatriates like to group for football and rugby, the dragon boat race or hashes harrier and an expatriate ladies group playing competitive tennis is never far away from your condominium.
The locals are very active in playing golf in Singapore and neighboring countries - this is generally regarded as an excellent and very popular opportunity to start a business connection.
